Which Colors Handle a Year in the Wabash Valley
Weather and roads decide how a color looks after a month. Here's what to expect around Terre Haute.
Winter brine
Brine and rock salt dry to a chalky haze. Light and mid-tone paints hide it between washes; dark paints show every splash line, so plan on more frequent winter rinses if you go black or blue.
Sycamore blue
Indiana State fans, this one's yours: Smoke Blue Pearl, new for 2027 and offered on every trim.
Muddy back roads
Mud dries to a dull brown that disappears on mid-tones and earthy greens, and stands out on Platinum White Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl.
Pollen season
For a few weeks every spring everything wears a yellow coat. Mid-tone paints, especially Sonic Gray Pearl and Ash Green Metallic, keep it from standing out.
Dirt in general
From hides-dirt-best to shows-dirt-most: Sonic Gray Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Ash Green Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic II, Sunset Orange, Platinum White Pearl, Smoke Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl. Pearl and metallic finishes help, but a mid-tone still wins.
